ALANIS MORISSETTE’S MEMOIRS BACK ON AFTER PERSONAL PROBLEMS

ALANIS MORISSETTE is revamping her book plans after her split from former fiance RYAN REYNOLDS left her with a broken heart and writer’s block.

The Canadian rocker made a start on the tome when she was dating the actor, who is now engaged to Scarlett Johansson, but quickly found it was the wrong time to be writing a book.

She tells Venice magazine, “I put that (book) away for a while… This whole deadline thing didn’t quite work… and there were lots of changes going on in my life then; not a good time to have a big book deadline.”

Morissette admits she has “reinstated the whole journey” and now plans to work on her memoirs with a new editor.

She adds, “She’s not so much an editor as someone who’s going to be midwifering the whole project.”

The singer is planning to release the book in 2009 and insists it won’t be a memoir, stating, “I’m thinking of the book as a service… decidedly not a memoir.”
