Katherine McPhee on the way to her Honeymoon

Monday 4 February 2008 @ 5:35 am

Newlyweds Katherine McPhee and Nick Cokas are spotted at LAX, preparing for departure on their honeymoon. Katherine looked simply stunning and seemed to be on Cloud 9.

The pair were wed on Saturday at Beverly Hills Presbyterian Church.

With February in full swing and V-Day fast approaching, it seems love is in the air.

Katharine McPhee Engaged

Friday 16 November 2007 @ 5:30 am

American Idol runner-up Katharine McPhee is engaged to actor Nick Cokas, sources tell PEOPLE.

McPhee, 23, recently has been showing off a ring from Cokas, 42. They have been dating for more than a year.

“Katharine is bubbling over with excitement for her upcoming wedding,” a source says. “She is all smiles when she talks about the planning. It sounds like everything is going very smoothly.”

The couple met in 2005 when they performed in a Los Angeles theater production of The Ghost and Mrs. Muir. Their union began as a friendship, McPhee told PEOPLE last year.

“He took me up to my San Francisco (Idol) audition,” McPhee said. That’s when their relationship blossomed. “We totally fell in love,” she said.

As for the 19-year age difference, McPhee says that “was never really a concern.” The two connect because “he just makes things really fun” and “we love business. We love going to meetings together and create things together.”

Case in point: the two will join forces on an upcoming independent film titled The Last Caller. McPhee will star in the dark romantic comedy and Cokas will produce.

McPhee, whose debut CD came out earlier this year, is currently filming the Anna Faris comedy I Know What Boys Like.

McPhee’s rep declined to comment.

Katharine McPhee and Rumer Willis Pledge Sorority Comedy

Friday 13 July 2007 @ 7:33 am

The American Idol runner-up and Demi Moore and Bruce Willis’ daughter-about-town have signed on to star in the latest from Adam Sandler’s Happy Madison productions.

In the as-yet-untitled comedy, McPhee and Willis will have to muster all their acting skills in order to play “sisters” in the “lamest sorority on campus,” according to The Hollywood Reporter. Their distinctively “lame” characteristics? McPhee will be a pregnant hippy and Willis a woman unwilling to remove an unnecessary backbrace.

McPhee playing pregnant? Sounds like she’s practicing for the fifteen babies she’s said she wants!

In addition to the Happy Madison project, both McPhee and Willis have other acting gigs lined up. The Reporter notes that McPhee has committed to indie dark-romantic-comedy The Last Caller, and Willis will join Mischa Barton and her Die Hard dad Bruce in dark comedy The Sophomore

Katherine McPhee Is Looking Sexy In Stuff

Tuesday 3 July 2007 @ 8:49 pm

Katharine McPhee has entered the pose-on-a-men’s-magazine phase of her career.

One part sex kitten, one part girl next door, McPhee, 23, sits down (on a stool! wearing very little!) with the August issue of Stuff magazine to dish about dating older men and her sexy album cover.

In the interview, Katharine reveals that she was that girl freshman year who had enormous breasts while your bra was really more for decoration.

At first she gets all flirty with a winking soundbite hinting that she’s not quite as innocent as her wholesome image would have us believe.

But then she brings us back down to earth by revealing that she’s always wanted to be pregnant and have 15 babies.

What every young, horny guy loves to hear!

The interview highlights, per usual, are below…

On being McNaughty and McNice:
“There are different sides of me. On American Idol, people saw the side that is very professional and put together. But there’s this other side of me that’s outgoing, energetic, and wild—and did really stupid things in college.”

On dating older men (her boyfriend, Broadway actor Nick Cokas, is 42):
“When I turned 21, I thought it was a good age to explore. You’re no longer a teenager, so it’s OK [to date older guys]. I gravitated toward them, and I love them. They’re just wiser, and they’re less about themselves and more about you.”

On her new album cover:
“People made a big deal out of that. They said, ‘She’s a slut, blah, blah, blah.’ But I’m really not showing that much skin. It’s all suggested.”

On what younger men need to know about women:
“Women sometimes act out, and men get frustrated. They don’t get that all we want is, for a few seconds, for you to be all about the girl—to snuggle her and give her kisses and tell her ‘Your lips are so pretty today. I love your lips.’”

On being popular with the fellas:
“I was prematurely developed. As a freshman I looked like a junior; I had boobs. Some of the older kids saw me in the yearbook and said I was cute.”

On settling down:
“Oh yeah. I want to have, like, 15 babies. I’ve always wanted to be pregnant. One year for Halloween, I decided to be pregnant, so I got this nun costume, and I put a big belly under it. I showed my parents and said I want to go to school as a pregnant nun. My dad sat me down and said, “Katharine, you can’t!”

Wonder Woman Casting Rumor #438: Sophia Bush Says Maybe …

Monday 8 January 2007 @ 7:31 am

Yes, we now officially have another name to throw in the Wonder Woman pot — this time around, it’s actress Sophia Bush who seems to be raising more than a few eyebrows. IESB recently sat down with Bush to discuss her role in The Hitcher remake, and decided to bring up a rumor they had heard awhile back but never wrote about. When asked whether she had discussed playing Wonder Woman with the powers that be, Bush simply replied, “Maybe.” Oh, and then she smiled.

Bush’s name has now been added to a long list of potential actresses up for the role, which includes Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra, Charisma Carpenter, Jessica Biel, American Idol’s Katherine McPhee (chalk that one up as the most bizarre), Rachel Bilson and Cinematical’s own Kim Voynar. (Keep in mind, Kim has nothing whatsoever to do with Wonder Woman, but I thought it would be fun to toss her name into the mix as well. Go Kim!)

Though we still don’t know exactly where Joss Whedon is in the production process (re-writing draft 15, perhaps?), it can’t be long before his star is announced. As far as Sophia Bush goes, she fits the perfect age range (unlike back when she was replaced by Claire “Why am I so boring” Danes in Terminator 3 for being “too young”), certainly looks the part (then again, there are thousands of pretty brunettes out there in La La Land) and, according to IESB, she has a kick-ass physique — one that’s capable of, well, kicking ass. So I guess we’ll see — is “maybe” with a smile enough to get excited? Not for me … but I could care less about a big-screen version of Wonder Woman. Your thoughts?
