Former IRON MAIDEN star BLAZE BAYLEY has been rocked by a family medical crisis - his wife has fallen into a coma after collapsing at their home.
The rocker has released a statement thanking fans who have offered him and his family words of support as they pray for his partner Debbie’s recovery.
He reveals his spouse, who is also his manager, suffered a brain haemorrhage at the family home in Tamworth, England on July 6, 2008 and has been in a coma
ever since.
He says, “She has had three neurosurgeries; each one has been a success.
“Debbie is now in a coma that could last days, weeks or even months. She is breathing on her own and she is stable, but she is still in critical condition.
“I visit her every day that I am not out with the band, and talk to her about what is going on with the band and how well the new album is doing. Her family and close friends are also at her bedside every day.”
Bayley reveals letters from fans have been a great help and he reads them to his wife: “Thank you to everyone who has sent messages of support to Debbie and
to me. A lot of them I have read out to Debbie in hospital.”
But Bayley - who has reformed his previous band Wolfsbane - refuses to put his music career on hold and stage a bedside vigil for his wife, because she would want him to rock on.
He explains, “She has worked so hard to get the band going and to make the new album possible that I feel it is important to continue with what she has started for us.
“So I am not cancelling any shows that she has arranged for the band, because I know that is not what Debbie would want.”
Bayley recently credited his wife, who he wed on Valentine’s Day last year, for straightening him out after financial problems and alcohol abuse sent him spiralling into a severe depression.

Rapper LIL WAYNE is facing legal action over accusations he has copied THE ROLLING STONES in one of his songs.
Bosses at music publishing firm Abkco Music Inc. allege the star has released an alternate version of the British rockers’ hit Play With Fire, which the label owns the rights to, without their permission.
And they’ve branded Lil Wayne’s track an “explicit, sexist and offensive” rendition of the 1965 tune, according to the lawsuit obtained by TMZ.com.
The company is suing for copyright infringement and seeking unspecified damages.

IN a rumble of reality-show divas, Shanna Moakler and Kim Kardashian had a screaming catfight at Carmen Electra’s party at the DKNY Jeans Beach House in Malibu Sunday night.
Moakler, the former Miss USA and co-star of MTV’s “Meet the Barkers,” threw a drink in the face of Kardashian, star of E!’s “Keeping Up With the Kardashians,” and yelled “Whore!” at her.
The bootylicious daughter of late O.J. Simpson lawyer Robert Kardashian once modeled for Famous Stars and Straps, the clothing line of Moakler’s ex-husband, rock drummer Travis Barker. But according to Shanna, Kim wanted more from Barker than modeling work.
“She was sending him text messages and e-mails, and this was when Travis and I were working on [staying together],” Moakler told Page Six. “When it happened, I asked her, ‘What are these e-mails?’ She had no answers for me. She was blatantly disrespectful.”
Moakler says she wouldn’t even have gone to the party if she had known Kardashian was going to be there.
“I was going to leave, but I’m a human being. I get upset. I wasn’t drunk, and I confronted her. She ruined my marriage and my family. If I get passionate about it, they call me crazy,” Moakler relates.
She says that Kardashian boyfriend Reggie Bush tried to calm them and that “I told him, ‘Your girl’s a whore.’ I told him Kim sent Travis messages to meet up secretly.”
Kardashian retaliated on Monday by strolling around in a T-shirt from Barker’s line in front of the paparazzi. “It was in the poorest of taste,” said Moakler.
Kardashian posted the following on her blog: “I just want to set the record straight . . . I only had a professional relationship with Travis. It was immature of me to wear [the shirt] out the other day. I just wasn’t thinking.”

The divorce-bound slugger and two male buddies left the Empire Hotel rooftop bar Wednesday night because he was “being bothered,” a source reports with a laugh. “All the girls were harassing him. He spent the entire time text-messaging.” A-Rod’s waitress, a smoking-hot, curly-haired brunette, said he avoided alcohol and drank Voss water before leaving. Meanwhile, a 20-year Miami-area lawyer says Rodriguez’s choice of divorce counsel is the talk of legal circles there. “Everyone is wondering why A-Rod added Alan Kluger to his legal team. We understand Ira Elegant, because he represented Shaq [O’Neal], but Kluger?” wondered the source. “He’s a corporate lawyer. The legal community is dumbfounded.” Kluger did not return repeated calls for a comment.

Country singer Chris Cagle has been found not guilty of domestic violence after his girlfriend refused to testify against him.
Cagle and Jennifer Tant were both charged with domestic violence after police said they got into a drunken fight May 28.
Tant invoked her Fifth Amendment right not to incriminate herself Thursday in Davidson County General Sessions Court. Her case was dismissed after prosecutors chose not to go forward.
Cagle, 39, declined to comment after the verdict. His attorney, Bill Ramsey, said in a statement that the charge never should have been brought.
Cagle is still scheduled to stand trial Sept. 23 in Tucson, Ariz., on a misdemeanor assault charge. He is accused of striking a man after a benefit concert.
