A drummer who toured with WHITNEY HOUSTON, TAKE THAT and TEXAS has been jailed after holding up a bank with a music-stand disguised as a gun.
Steve Tate - who enjoyed a successful career under the name Steve Washington - stole $2,160 from a bank in Kent, England earlier this year.
Tate, 46 - who spent five years touring with Take That during the height of their fame in the early 1990s - was jailed for four years after pleading guilty to robbery.

Whitney Houston says it all in a new track making the rounds online.
“I want you to love me like I never left,” the legendary songbird trills in the aptly titled “Like I Never Left.”
MIA from the music scene since her private life went on a roller-coaster ride full of substance-abuse problems and a trainwreck marriage to Bobby Brown, Ms. Houston hasn’t released a new tune in approximately forever—or at least since 2003’s “One Wish (for Christmas).”
While “Like I Never Left” is technically a love song featuring Akon, the lyrics couldn’t be more perfect for her return to recording. In one verse from the three-minute, 39-second cut, Houston coos, “Yes, your girl is coming back.”
Whit is expected to release her new—and much anticipated—album this coming fall.
Welcome back, Whitney! And please stay this time.

Whitney Houston really seems to have put the pipe away for good. She performed at London's Battersea Park on Thursday night and was reportedly in fine form.
Houston reportedly "looked and sounded amazing," and was "fantastic," according to an audience member.
Her name is not Susan performed at the Caudwell Children Legends Ball, and did a set of her greatest hits. Houston performed "The Greatest Love Of All," "I Wanna Dance With Somebody," and "My Love Is Your Love" among others. She even brought her daughter Bobbi Kristina out to duet on that last song with her? Bobbi Kristina can sing? Hey, as long as she's not trying injure herself, we're cool.
Houston is working on her "comeback" album with longtime friend and mentor Clive Davis and no longer getting high on crack cocaine and visiting gas stations wearing fur coats at 3 AM. She's really turning it around.
According to the National Enquirer, Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown's daughter Bobbi Kristina tried to commit suicide days before her 15th birthday this past March. The tabloid is reporting that the troubled teen lashed out at her mother and stabbed her during an argument.
Allegedly, Bobbi Kristina then attempted to take her own life by slashing her wrists. This information was divulged to the rag by family friend Ann Davis, who says that Kristina's main source of frustration is that she she doesn't want to live with her mother.
After the incident, the 15-year-old was taken to a psychiatric ward in Atlanta to receive treatment. Poor kid. I'm kind of hoping it's made up, although I doubt it is.

With a new album in the works, Whitney Houston is standing strong against allegations from ex-husband Bobby Brown, says Houston’s aunt, soul singer Dionne Warrick.
“Whitney Houston is back!” Warrick told PEOPLE before taking the stage to perform some of her own songs at Muhammad Ali’s Celebrity Fight Night XIV event in Phoenix on Friday night
“I’m thrilled that she’s in the studio and working on her new album,” Warwick, 67, said of her niece. “No doubt she’s overcoming everything that has been put in front of her even this week.”
Last week, Brown, 39, dished on their marriage – making allegations of her drug use – as he promoted his autobiography due out next month.
But rumors are nothing new to Houston, 44, who was working on her new album when she heard the news, according to music mogul Clive Davis.
“She was just in the studio this week working on a song called ‘Nothing But Love’ when she heard of all this mess in the papers,” Davis says.
Davis adds: “I’m sure that this week has been traumatic but she’s committed and looking forward to her new life.”

Bobby Brown's autobiography, Bobby Brown: The Truth, the Whole Truth and Nothing But, is set to come out next month and in it, he dishes all the dirt on his ex-wife Whitney Houston. You know I'm going to read that thing from cover to cover and if I ever manage to become a Professor of Gossip Blogging, it will be required reading on my syllabus.
Bobby claims that Whitney drove him to drugs and my initial reaction to reading that was to think that of course she did. Weren't all of their cars in her name? I jest, but in all seriousness, Bobby claims that Whitney is the one who introduced him to cocaine. According to Bobby, "I never used cocaine until after I met Whitney. Before then, I had experimented with other drugs, but marijuana was my drug of choice."
After that, Bobby says that his drug use expanded to include heroin, cocaine, weed, cooked cocaine, "everything I could get my hands on," he adds. Brown also says that their marriage was based on false pretenses, saying that he believes his wife was hoping to squelch rumors about her bisexuality. In Bobby's words, "I believe her agenda was to clean up her image, while mine was to be loved and have children."
